Risks of Dog without Pedigree

If you do not choose a pedigree dog but a puppy whose origin is not certain, then you run risks. Every year more than 70,000 puppies from the dog trade are brought to the Netherlands.
Every year about 60,000 to 80,000 dogs are imported. A large proportion of these dogs are bred exclusively for trade in Eastern Europe. These dogs do not have an internationally recognized pedigree. Many of these breeders are not so keen on the health, well-being, and behavior of the dogs as Dutch Breeders.
For example, many mother dogs have continuous nests and that for several years in a row. Dutch mother dogs may only have a litter once a year. In pedigree dogs, there is also a maximum number of litters. Eastern European breeders do not usually do health examinations for the parent animals and the pups are often ill. The bad start reveals that these dogs often show behavioral problems. These puppies are bred and traded for a few bucks.
In the Netherlands, these puppies are then cheaper to buy via the internet and marketplace. Logically right?
🐶 So choose carefully, and don't be tempted by pathetic puppies and lying stories!
